It has been 2 years now and theres one thing I still havent heard anyone mention. At the beginning when the father and his little son were talking he was explaining how the BP came to be. That scene was very dark, dark as in the void of light. The father explained how the Jabari Tribe went off on their own. As hes talking, history is being shown very dimly. If you look closely youll see fighting, THEN youll see captives walking in chains (I think I remember chains. The next thing you see is a SLAVE SHIP. The next thing you see in this fog-like dark scenery is an airplane. Not just any airplane but a WW1 plane. As the scene continues to march us thru history, it ends/begins in California on a basketball court. I saw all of that the first time I saw the movie. I think the heart of “Eric Killmonger and TChalla” lives in us all at certain periods of our lives. I liked your comparison of the “prodigal son”. The only thing Ill add to that is the young son chose to leave his fathers house. We (AA) didnt choose to leave, we were taken. Salute to you MassiYah and the other Brother (I dont know his name.
