The word that was used for the Nguni people in South Africa by the colonists was 'kaffir/kafir. Which actually means 'non-believer' or 'one without religion' and it was later adopted as a derogatory racial slur against the bantu people of South Africa. The term was also used by early Boer trek farmers to describe a person not converted to Christianity. This just goes to show that bantu people really never had a religion, but rather our own spirituality which was KONGO. And bantu people from south and central Africa are one.
