Pulp Fiction
トーク情報- yabungiku
yabungiku IMHO one of Quentin's best creative gifts is his masterful use of dialogue and I think he's used that gift to make a word generally regarded as being very offensive, to be meaningless- as though he were just saying dude or guy. If you've watched the rest of the scene, Jimmie is obviously close friends with Jules (he's willing to risk his marriage to help his friend dispose of a dead if he is grumpy about it) and he's married to a black woman. So to me, the fact that he fires off that word with such rapidity and vehemence to his black friend cannot be fully explained by him just being upset; it seems to suggest it's just a regular word that's been watered down so much it no longer matters. Which I suppose might actually be a good thing. Just my two cents.
