One thing you forgot was the symbolism, especially in butches story, of sodomy for brotherhood forged in fire. It goes back to the subverted machismo. Butch's father and Christopher Walken were tortured in a prison camp and he kept his watch up his ass. Clearly, it meant enough to Walken that he tracked down butch after the war to transfer this heirloom. Butch goes back to get his watch and runs a foul of Wallace. Threat of sodomy is enough to make these men not only set aside their animosity and become allies, but they share a kind of brotherhood. Worth commenting on.
