kinsareha I'd read all of the then 4 Dune books prior to seeing this film way back in 1984, I don't remember being very impressed then; I've recently watched it again and god, it is awful. I thought that maybe a 21st Century eye for film has left me contemptuous of the era when it was made but then I think Star Wars: no this film stands on it's own for badness.

kinsareha I do quite like the Art-Deco scenery that's used throughout but there it ends; from the terrible voice-over and "machine" voiced narration, through special effects that belie the fact that it was made post-Star Wars and sharp departures from the actual story, to some of the most cheesy, over-acting I have ever witnessed this film ranks as one of the worst ever made.
