A magnificent surrealistic cinematic psychological horror story, with two brilliant powerhouse star performances by Willem Dafoe and Robert Patterson as the lighthouse keepers on a remote island who slowly descend into the abyss of madness. Great direction, striking cinematography, and wonderful editing. One of the year's finest and most under forgettable.
