Re: Kevin - I think the book plays out more along the lines of the mother being an unreliable narrator, projecting all these delusions on her kid, which is why he was so fucked up. The film played out a little differently. I like that, in the book, the mother is telling the story in first person, but we're not really given any reason (besides common sense) to question her testimony until the end.
