Even though, this is a funny scene, Loki writing out a scene where he has his father praising and loving him is desperately sad when you think about it. This ties in directly with the horror he feels at the revelation of his heritage back in the first Thor film. There, he screams. TELL ME' wanting to know why Odin took him. And then he had to listen, emotionally crushed and destroyed, as Odin essentially told him that he was coldly and calculatingly taken for little more than political purposes to be maybe used in the future. Very funny scene but underlying it, there is a tragic sense of Loki still being a little boy wanting nothing more than to be loved hence the living through the daydreaming and over the top dramatics here. He needs to be loved. He wants his audience to feel he is special and a hero.
