It was dark and depressing. I watch movies to escape. I watch movies to be entertained. I watch movies to laugh, cry and feel good. This left me with money of that. I felt sick. Uneasy.

Amd yes you will have the wannabes writing their critical reviews suggesting it's about social commentary and mental health issues. it's a super hero/villain movie!

I don't watch horror movies for the same reason I didn't like this movie. As I said at the outset, it was well made and exceptionally acted but it wasnt entertaining in the slightest. It was horrific to watch. It was like witnessing someone having a breakdown. and what's entertaining about that.

Some would try to sell me the idea that this movie is about how The Joker (Heath Ledger) was created, but I'm not buying me it's just a mental-illness-awarnes If it was called "Sad Clown" would it still be great? Hell yes. it was fantastic... Into the realm of the mentally challenged. It does not remind me of the Batman franchise at though Bruce Wayne's name gets mentioned once and in the end his mother and father gets killed in an alley way. It rather illustrates the pain, suffering and misunderstanding of people suffering with mental illness.
