Extraction - It's high octane action, display of brawn and muscles, a celebration of firearms and a whole lot of blood & gore. That's Extraction for you. The story is a wrap around the central theme - more action. Since this has already made you curious, Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) a mercenary working on death defying assignments, is given the responsibility of extracting Ovi Mahajan Jr. (Rudraksh Jaiswal) the son of an international crime lord Ovi Mahajan Sr. (Pankaj Tripathi, in a blink and you miss role) from the den of another crime lord Amir Asif (Priyanshu Paiyuli) based in Dhaka. Also in the fray to rescue Ovi is Saju (Randeep Hooda) who works for Ovi Sr., under the threat that the failure will lead to the elimination of Saju's family.

It's a formulaic pot boiler really. The only difference is that there's very little spoken stuff, exchanges are mostly in the form of armed combats, car chases and raining bullets. In its cheapest form, the hand to hand combats are with a myriad of knives, or anything else that is found handy. The high point in the film for me was when Hemsworth speaks in Bangla asking for evidence, Promaan Dao" show me the evidence, for those who didn't know) not once but thrice stunning the original captors and the dumb struck audience - I am almost certain that the looks on our faces would have mirrored those he was addressing on screen. Well, after a couple of hours of mayhem Ovi is indeed rescued but not before almost everyone dies. The film gets full marks for the fight fest and zero for anyone's acting - actually no one needed to act. Shataf Figar makes his presence felt inadequate small role of a sniper in Dhaka.
