I am looking for novels which might sit in the same vein as Labyrinth (1986), Legend (1986) and even - in my brain - The Cell (2000). I guess I'm after stuff that reads like a very visual and surreal fairy-tale. It should feel mysterious and the magic dark. Absolutely loved Legend (watched it with my 6 and 3 year old) and wanted to find a novel like it. Some of Patricia McKillip's writing fits the bill, but thar is all I can think of. Cheers.
