I went into this thinking that it was way to late for a sequel to the Shining. But as long as it did it's own thing (with a few nods and winks here and there) it could be great.
The Movie does actually start out that way and I was enjoying it to a point. But it soon goes the easy route and forgets to be it's own movie. Overdoing it with the lazy references and call backs.
I was liking Doctor Sleep as a psychological thriller, but when it decides it's now a horror movie it fails miserably, so is unlikely to please many that give it a chance.
