Epic adventure film. The story of the Titanic tragedy might have been told in a better way ( A Night to Remember ) but it has never been and never will be told in a bigger way. A huge amount of money was spent and unlike some other films ( Waterworld ) it showed. Leonardo and Kathy Bates are excellent while the others give pretty good performances. The climax is probably the best in Hollywood history and the sets are also fantastic. Having said that, the movie is certainly not the best of all times and I doubt that it deserved the 11 Oscars. Kate certainly didn't deserve to be nominated. The movie swept away the whole world and probably the academy members also got a little carried away. It definitely is worth watching at least twice.
